Best Paleo Recipes

Over the last hundred years, if not more, there have been tons of diets that promise to make you lose weight and turn you healthy practically overnight. Yet no matter how much you try, none of them seem to fit right.

Say you are a “carnivore”, who enjoys eating meat more than salads, and the whole salad diet, cutting out your main proteins just isn’t your style. I am here to tell you that there is a diet that is quickly rising in popularity called the Paleo diet, where you can indulge yourself in your favorite meats, yet you can still end up hitting your goal weight!

The way that this diet works, is by emulating the diet of our ancestors, who hunted and gathered for their meals, on account of the fact that they simply didn’t suffer from the same diseases that we modern humans do today.

The paleo diet isn’t quite as strict as others, only basing its benefits off of the dietary regimen of unprocessed meat, fruits, and vegetables, along with fish, eggs, nuts, and seeds. One could say you’d be “eating like a caveman”!

Now, the issue you may face is the fact that you’ll have to prepare meals and snacks based upon this seemingly simple dietary plan, but what you don’t realize is since you can’t eat a lot of certain foods, it could prove to be difficult to just whip something up to eat. Today, we will be giving you our best paleo recipes, along with some meal planning advice and a list of do’s and don’ts, regarding paleo. Here you go!

Paleo Lemon Chicken

Not only is this a paleo favorite, but it’s also gluten, dairy, and nut-free! Plus, it’s extremely easy to make, so if cooking isn’t your thing, you won’t have to worry about complicated instructions.

Here’s what you’ll need to make this delicious dish:

  • Boneless skinless chicken breast
  • Coconut aminos
  • Dry sherry
  • Arrowroot powder
  • Coconut flour
  • Honey
  • Fresh lemon juice
  • Freshly grated ginger
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • Oil (preferably olive oil or coconut oil)

This recipe is so juicy, delicious, and will make you feel like you just visited the home of a grandma down south! It’s fried food without all the guilt.

The Best Paleo Chili

You’ll get your fix of both spicy and savory with this recipe for common comfort food, perfect for a cold, wintry day, or just a day you don’t want to prepare a whole five-course meal for yourself! This hearty dish is flavorful, and while it’s in all its meaty glory, you’ll also find that it’s packed with yummy veggies!

The ingredient list is pretty lengthy, with decadent components such as fire-roasted tomatoes, avocado, cilantro, ground beef, BACON, and much, MUCH more! Throw in a little squirt of lime (or more, we’re not here to judge) to make it the BEST chili you’ve ever had! Here’s the full recipe!

Easy Paleo Meatloaf

If you’re like me, you likely have some ancient meatloaf recipe circulating within your family that your grandmother swears by. Would you believe me if I said you could blow Granny’s cookbook out of the water with this one?! No? Well, start believing, because this paleo meatloaf is to die for!

With this recipe, you’ll want to ditch your traditional ketchup and breadcrumbs, as they don’t follow the paleo diet– but have no fear! The ingredients in this will make up for it tenfold. Pick up some coconut aminos, almond flour, apple cider vinegar, and mustard powder on your next trip to the grocery store to fulfill the added ingredients, along with the obvious meat, which is the star of your meatloaf (it’s literally in the name!)

Paleo Tips & Tricks

It can be difficult to know that you have to cut so much out when participating in this dietary plan, but it can really pay off if you do it correctly. There are a lot of things you can do in order to ensure that you get through this diet correctly and effectively, to where you won’t ever want to go back!

Cut Carbs Completely

Carbs are a big no-no in the paleo diet. You’ll make up for the vetoed carbohydrates with plenty of protein and hearty veggies and fruits, and you won’t miss your bread and starches once you’ve gotten used to this diet! With paleo, you won’t be left hungry, like you normally would with other regular diets, so you won’t be starving yourself to achieve your goal weight loss.

Stock up on meats

Pretty self-explanatory. Just hit up your local grocery or butcher shop and get your meats in bulk, rather than buy a pound or two at a time. You’ll save money and time this way!

Keep your fridge stocked

For days you don’t want to cook, or are just looking for a quick meal to bring with you to work, be sure to have your fridge decked out with plenty of hard-boiled eggs, chicken salad, and salmon!

Be patient with the diet

With any sort of change in the way you eat, your body will take time to adjust to your new diet. Give it a little bit to start working, and more importantly, do not give up on it!

Make extra dinner for next-day lunch leftovers
